Allotments

The Parish Council leases land from the Duchy of Cornwall in order to provide allotments for Stoke residents.  Allotment sites are located in North Street, Furlands and Stonehill.  The Parish Clerk manages each site, and will be able to advise you on current availability of plots. Please contact the Parish Clerk at [email protected] if you live within the Parish and would like to rent an allotment. Availability at your chosen site may be limited in which case you may ask to be added to the waiting list for that site.

A full allotment plot which comprises of approximately 300 square yards. (actually measured as 10 square perch), costs £17 per year to lease. Half and quarter plots may also be available with the cost at a pro-rata rate. The rental year runs from 1st January to 31st December.

As a pre-condition, all plot holders must enter into a formal lease arrangement with the Parish Council which sets out the terms and conditions with which the allotment holder must comply at all times.  In addition to payment of the rent fee due for the year, a deposit of £25 is also payable which is refundable on vacating the plot, subject to it having been left in a tidy state.
